Snaplogic is seeking a Senior Revenue and GL Accountant with deep knowledge in ASC 606 and ASC 340, coupled with a strong background in operational GL accounting and reporting. This role is designed for a process-oriented professional who can manage the complexities of revenue recognition while also owning critical operational accounting areas, such as cloud hosting costs and professional services margins and reporting. You will be the bridge between Revenue Operations and the General Ledger, collaborating closely with internal teams and external providers to drive process improvement, automation, and consistency across the accounting function in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting.

This is a hybrid role, with some expectation to be on-site in the San Mateo office.
What You'll Do:

Revenue & Compliance

  • Contract Lifecycle: Perform detailed contract review and analysis for non-standard arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.

  • Technical Accounting: Support the preparation of SSP / FV analysis, research accounting guidance, and document the Company’s position on complex revenue transactions.

  • Invoicing, Collections & Forecasting: Support invoicing, cash collections and cash forecasting process.

GL & Operational Excellence

  • Month-End Ownership: Perform close activities and prepare journal entries/reconciliations for revenue (subscription and professional services), deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and commissions.

  • Cost Management: Own the accounting for cloud hosting costs and professional services labor allocations, ensuring expenses are accurately mapped to margins.

  • P&L Reporting: Prepare and analyze the Professional Services PnL, providing visibility into project-level profitability.

  • Audit & Disclosures: Prepare year-end disclosures for financial reporting and lead the response for areas of responsibility.

Partnership & Process

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, Finance, Legal, and Professional Services teams to ensure bookings and revenue align with company policies.

  • Systems & Automation: Participate in cross-functional initiatives to streamline and automate revenue accounting processes within the ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce)

  • Controls: Support the design and documentation of key internal controls for revenue and operational spend.

  • Other: Ad hoc projects and requests

What We're Looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting.

  • CPA preferred but not required.

  • 5+ years of combined experience in public accounting or a corporate revenue accounting role.

  • Operational accounting experience in a growing fast-paced SAAS technology business and experience.

  • Experience with activities in the quote-to-cash process (e.g. order review, contract creation in an accounting system, billing, revenue recognition).

  • Experience using Excel (maintaining complex spreadsheets and calculations), NetSuite ARM, and Salesforce CPQ.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
