Surgery Scheduler

Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgical procedures in accordance with physician and patient needs
- Coordinate with surgeons and patients to confirm dates and times
- Prepare and verify all necessary documentation, including patient records, insurance information, and pre-operative instructions
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-surgical preparations and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records and documentation
- Assist with insurance authorizations and pre-authorization processes as needed
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical scheduling, preferably in a surgical or outpatient setting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks

Must have 2 years of proven Surgery Scheduling
Experience in Vascular preferred
Must have experience with Insurance authorizations
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR such as eClinical and Epic
Familiarity with Medical Terminology including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
Handle front desk duties as needed
Exceptional communications skills with strong phone etiquette
