Supplier Development Engineer I at Mando America Corp – Opelika, Alabama

Job Purpose:

Responsible to develop and manage the Supplier Development Process in a process-based quality department. This position is the focal point of quality and development timing for new programs

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed)

1. Assess potential suppliers

2. Participate in the technical review for supplier selection

3. Carry out supplier development for new programs

4. Manage supplier’s development timing to meet the new program schedule

5. Review supplier’s 4M preparation plan in terms of part quality

6. Audit supplier’s manufacturing process

7. Verity and qualify supplier’s parts and products

8. Verify supplier’s manufacturing capacity

9. Perform regular process audit at the mass production stage

Qualifications:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Minimum 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development or Purchasing (Automotive manufacturing environment preferred).

Parts development experience with automotive suppliers

Bilingual in Korean and English

Technical Competencies:

• Ability to understand GD&T and drawings
• Six Sigma Green & Black Belt
• Knowledge of APQP, SPC, MSA and Quality System (TS16949, VDA etc.. )
• Power point & Excel Skills

Non-Technical Competencies:

• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Problem solving skills to meet project time managing
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment

Working Conditions:

• Frequent office setting with occasional need to be on manufacturing floor, warehouse, or foundry.
• Occasional requirement of PPE
• Constant use of computer and office equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional use of stairs or uneven surfaces
• Constant sitting and occasional walking
• Rare lifting, carrying or pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Remote Work Eligibility: Not eligible for hybrid or remote work
