Position Overview

Pivotal Housing Partners is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the company’s growing analytics and reporting capabilities.

This role will focus primarily on building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, supporting operational and financial reporting, and helping translate business questions into actionable data insights. This role requires someone who can translate business questions into clear dashboards and visualizations.

The Junior BI Analyst will work closely with operations leadership and analytics stakeholders to support reporting for portfolio performance, property-level operations, financial analysis, and key portfolio KPIs. This role plays an important part in ensuring teams across the organization have access to clear, accurate, and useful data.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, solving business problems, and turning complex information into clear and useful visualizations.

Summary of responsibilities

  • Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports using existing data models
  • Maintain and enhance existing dashboards to improve usability and accuracy
  • Translate business questions into meaningful reports and visualizations
  • Support operational reporting across property management and portfolio performance
  • Assist with financial and KPI reporting for leadership teams
  • Troubleshoot report issues and resolve data discrepancies
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy
  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests from operations leadership
  • Work with Regional Managers and internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs
  • Document report logic, definitions, and dashboard usage to support internal knowledge sharing
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to improve analytics workflows and reporting efficiency

How this role evolves over time

  • Early months: Learn Pivotal’s reporting environment and Power BI dashboards; build and update dashboards using existing semantic models; support ad-hoc reporting requests and data validation efforts
  • Mid-term growth: Take ownership of recurring reports and operational dashboards; improve existing reports through better design, usability, and performance; help identify opportunities for new dashboards
  • Long-term development: Contribute ideas to improve analytics processes and reporting standards; gain deeper knowledge of portfolio analytics and property operations
Requirements:

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field
  • 0–3 years of experience working with data analytics or business intelligence tools
  • Experience building dashboards or reports using Power BI or similar BI tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data
  • Understanding of basic data modeling concepts (tables, relationships, measures)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business questions into meaningful data insights
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI dashboard development and report design
  • Familiarity with Power Query and data transformation concepts
  • Exposure to Python, automation tools, or AI-assisted analytics tools
  • Interest in real estate, housing, or operational analytics environments
  • Experience explaining data insights to non-technical audiences
