The Vice President for Campus Infrastructure & Development (VPCID) provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for the University’s physical environment, built assets, and infrastructure systems. Reporting to the President or designee, the VPCID ensures that campus facilities, capital projects, information technology coordination, transportation, and public safety functions are aligned with the institution’s academic mission, strategic plan, and long-term sustainability goals. This role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in facilities management, capital construction, and operational administration. The VPCID will lead complex infrastructure initiatives, manage significant operating and capital budgets, and oversee multidisciplinary teams to ensure a safe, efficient, and future-ready campus environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all facilities management functions, including preventive maintenance, building systems, grounds, custodial services, and utilities.
  • Serve as the University’s lead executive for capital construction projects from master planning through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and execute multi-year capital improvement plans aligned with institutional priorities and deferred maintenance needs.
  • Manage relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, ADA requirements, fire safety, environmental regulations, and occupational health standards.
  • Provide executive oversight for Campus Police and Public Safety, ensuring a secure and community-centered campus environment.
  • Oversee transportation, parking, and mobility services to support campus operations and user needs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive divisional strategic plan aligned with the University’s institutional effectiveness framework.
  • Manage a significant operating and capital budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility, forecasting, and compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse workforce across all functional areas within the division.
  • Support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to facilities, safety, and infrastructure.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, capital construction, or related operations, including at least 5 years in senior leadership.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
