About This Position

Mortgage Operations Manager (Client Experience & Loan Structuring)

Inbound opportunities from past clients and referral partners. No cold prospecting.

If you’re experienced in mortgage lending and enjoy structuring deals, guiding clients, and running a clean process—but don’t love constantly chasing your next deal—this role is built for you.

This is not a traditional loan officer position.

You will step into a system where:

  • Leads are generated through past clients and referral partners
  • A backend team handles processing and closing
  • Your focus is on owning the client experience and driving deals forward

Your role is to take full ownership of the front end of the loan process—from initial conversation through contract—while delivering a consistent, high-level experience for both clients and agents.

You are not responsible for generating business.

You are responsible for executing at a high level with the opportunities provided.

This is a high-communication, high-accountability environment. Clients and agents expect proactive updates, clear guidance, and a smooth process from start to finish.

At the Arrowood Team @ Preferred Rate, we’ve built our business around doing what we say we’re going to do and delivering a five-star experience every time. We’re proud to have earned 245+ five-star Google reviews from clients we’ve served.

Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 base plus commission, with total compensation potential of $120,000+.

Compensation:

$60,000 – $80,000 base + commission

Responsibilities:

What You Own

Own the client relationship from initial contact through contract

  • Conduct borrower consultations and structure loan scenarios
  • Pre-approve and guide clients through financing decisions
  • Present loan options clearly and confidently
  • Manage rate lock conversations and prepare files for submission
  • Drive communication with clients and referral partners during the early stages
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with active buyers
  • Ensure every file moves forward without unnecessary delays
  • Deliver a high-level experience that generates referrals and reviews
  • Work closely with a processing team that takes over after submission
  • Follow established communication frameworks and systems used by the team

Qualifications:

Experience

  • 5+ years of mortgage lending experience
  • Active NMLS license
  • Strong loan structuring and guideline knowledge
  • Experience with Encompass or similar LOS
  • Must have experience managing your own pipeline independently
  • Construction lending experience is preferred but not required

Skills & Traits

  • Strong communicator with clients and referral partners
  • Confident presenting options beyond just the rate
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proactive and responsive
  • Comfortable managing multiple active files
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Able to operate independently without constant direction
  • Eastern or Central Time Zone required for remote work

This Role Is a Fit If You:

  • Prefer running a process rather than constantly finding business
  • Take pride in delivering a smooth, well-managed client experience
  • Naturally take ownership and follow through without being asked
  • Are comfortable working within a structured, high-performing team
  • Like the idea of focusing on execution instead of prospecting

This Role Is Not a Fit If You:

  • Want to build your own book of business independently
  • Prefer a low-communication or transactional environment
  • Need constant direction or oversight
  • Struggle with organization or follow-up
