About the Role:
The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the facilities. This position ensures that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained to meet health and safety standards, contributing to the overall well-being of employees and visitors. The Custodian is responsible for performing deep cleaning tasks at all locations while adhering to established safety protocols. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Ultimately, the Custodian supports the smooth operation of the facility by creating a welcoming and hygienic atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and cleaning instructions.
- Basic math skills including the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
- Physical capability to perform repetitive motions and reach with hands and arms as required.
- Experience with janitorial duties or custodial work in a similar environment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and consistently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a custodian or janitor in a commercial or institutional setting.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform deep cleaning tasks at 6 different restaurant locations.
- Work without direct supervision.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed to maintain hygiene standards.
- Follow safety rules and procedures to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment properly.
- Read and interpret cleaning schedules, safety instructions, and maintenance documents to ensure compliance.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture or equipment for events or meetings as required.
- Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and stored safely.
