Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety / EHS Manager to support a large-scale, mission-critical data center construction project in Sparks, NV. This individual will serve as the lead safety authority onsite, responsible for driving the overall safety program, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across all field operations.
This is a high-visibility role supporting a fast-paced, complex project environment with multiple subcontractors and critical construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the site-specific Safety Execution Plan
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve site safety procedures and protocols
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, client standards, and site-specific requirements
- Lead and manage all onsite safety operations and initiatives
- Supervise and support Safety Coordinators and field safety staff
- Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters onsite
- Manage and conduct weekly safety audits and inspections
- Oversee HSE reporting, including metrics, trends, and corrective actions
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of documentation to General Contractors and stakeholders
- Address and manage OSHA-related concerns and compliance requirements
- Lead all incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis
- Manage injured employees through return-to-work process
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risk
- Oversee new hire onboarding and safety orientation programs
- Manage orientation schedules and ensure workforce readiness
- Coordinate and track onsite safety training and certifications
- Maintain all certification records, including documentation within NGBS systems
- Oversee and enforce:
- JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
- PTP (Pre-Task Planning)
- HHC (High Hazard Coordination)
- Ensure proper execution of safety planning for high-risk activities
- Manage PPE programs, including issuance, tracking, and compliance
- Oversee inspection and calibration of PPE
- Coordinate with vendors (e.g., Cintas) for safety supplies and services
- Drive safety incentive programs to promote engagement and accountability
- Partner with field teams to reinforce a proactive, solutions-oriented safety culture
- Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and leadership engagement sessions
- 8–12+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in: data centers, mission-critical environments, large-scale industrial or commercial construction
- Proven experience as a Site Safety Manager / EHS Manager
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and field teams
- Demonstrated ability to lead safety programs on fast-paced, high-value projects
- OSHA 30 (required), OSHA 500/510 (preferred)
- CHST, CSP, or equivalent certifications are a plus
- Experience working in Owner’s Rep or GC environments
- Familiarity with safety tracking/reporting systems (Procore, NGBS, etc.)
