Description:

A Housekeeping Supervisor in hospitality is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a housekeeping team, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to high standards by assigning tasks, training staff, inspecting cleanliness, managing inventory, and addressing guest concerns, while adhering to safety and hygiene regulations within a hotel or other hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management:
  • Assign cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff based on room status and priorities.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staff availability to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company standards.
  • Quality Control:
  • Regularly inspect guest rooms and public areas to verify cleanliness standards are met.
  • Address any cleanliness issues promptly and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement necessary adjustments to cleaning practices.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
  • Monitor usage and order supplies as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Guest Service:
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints regarding cleanliness in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments to address guest concerns and ensure smooth service.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize cleaning procedures and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor cleaning schedules and adjust as needed to meet demands.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction within the housekeeping department.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and hygiene standards related to cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation regarding cleaning tasks and inspections.

  • Understands and follows policies and procedures for the hotel’s key control system and ensures others follow them.
