About This Position

Description:

The Support Staff position at McCain Veteran Center is ideal for someone with prior military experience or familiarity with veteran culture who values structure, teamwork, and service. We are committed to serving Veterans with dignity and compassion by connecting them to the resources and support they deserve. Our Support Staff monitor clients, transport them for treatment, communicate and document all occurrences, and help to provide a safe, caring environment in which the clients can recover. The Support Staff spend more direct time with the clients than any other position, and as such, are the lead role models in helping the clients to rebuild new lives. It requires maintaining a positive, productive attitude, even when clients may be argumentative or non-compliant.

*** This is a full-time position. Overnight shift available. ***

  • Client Supervision and Management including coordinating care and services
  • Facility compliance checks and documentation
  • Record keeping and documentation
  • Personal and client accountability
  • General housekeeping
  • Inventory
  • Meal Prep & Service
  • Alcohol and Drug testing
  • Documentation in housing software program
  • Property Management & Light Maintenance

Founded in 2012, Axiom Care is a Phoenix-based behavioral health organization that aims to ensure every Arizonan has access to compassionate, effective substance use treatment. With facilities in Maricopa and Pinal Counties, we offer comprehensive services including 24/7 observation, inpatient detoxification, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, and recovery housing with a focus on underserved populations.

Beyond our full-continuum community programs, we proudly operate specialty programs for the justice-involved (in partnership with ADCRR), for members of the Navajo Nation (in partnership with the Navajo Department of Health), and for Veterans (McCain Veteran Center).

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of recovery programs including: The 12 Steps, Smart Recovery, etc.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Shift Flexibility
  • Take direction well
  • Team player
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Food Handler's Card
  • Negative TB Test
  • Computer skills: Knowledge of Windows, basic email, Microsoft Word, timekeeping software. Basic computer navigation skills. Ability to type at least 30 words per minutes.
  • Professional and/or personal experience with substance abuse treatment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret emails, policies, letters, procedures, etc.
  • Ability to operate 15-passenger van
  • High level of patience

Strongly Preferred:

· Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces (honorable discharge preferred).

· Personal or professional experience in recovery or substance use treatment.

· Familiarity with 12-Step programs, VA systems, or trauma-informed care.

· CPR and First Aid certification (can be provided by the organization).

· Fingerprint Clearance - must start fingerprint application process within 2 weeks
