Job Description
<undefined role="navigation"><strong>Job Summary</strong></undefined><br><p data-pasted="true">Assists in the emergency medical technician (EMT) course.</p><p data-pasted="true"><strong>Essential Duties</strong></p><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Assists with the set up and break down of lab materials and equipment needed for individual courses.</li><li>Assists in creating simulations that allow students to demonstrate their critical thinking ability, technical skills, and interpersonal interactions</li><li>Assists students with their technical skills practice.</li><li>Assesses student performance in skill practice, scenarios, and simulations, according to the Oregon Health Authority’s Competency Based Assessment framework. </li><li>Communicates with the course instructor, EMT program director, and other program staff regarding expectations, concerns, and individual student certification.</li><li>Promotes a safe class environment and assists with ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and college requirements. </li><li>Operates and trouble shoots technical equipment in the lab.</li><li>Tracks inventory of supplies required for learning activities, and alerts program eirector when inventory is low.</li></ol><p><strong>Additional Duties</strong></p><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Performs all other duties as assigned.</li></ol><br>
<p data-pasted="true"><strong>Minimum Qualifications </strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Current EMT or higher license in good standing with Oregon State Emergency Medical Services (EMS) office</li><li>Current CPR card for basic life support (BLS) providers. </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Teaching experience</li><li>Experience as an emergency medical technician and/or paramedic</li></ul>
<p data-pasted="true"><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Proficient in emergency medical technician skills</li><li>Knowledge of emergency medical technician industry</li><li>Organizational skills</li><li>Ability to competently and professional engage students in a dynamic learning environment</li></ul>
<p data-pasted="true"><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><p>This is an on- site position. Work is typically performed in an indoor lab environment. Some work may be performed outdoors or in an ambulance setting. </p><p><strong>Salary Placement</strong></p><p>Initial salary placement will be within the posted range or pay rate of the position, and is based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Please include <u>all</u> relevant education and full and part-time experience (including unpaid and volunteer experience) in your application that you want the College to review towards potential placement. Hired employees will not have an opportunity to update past education and/or experience or appeal initial placement after the time of hire.</p>
