Career Opportunity: Policy Advisor

Location: Prince George, BC

Employment Type: Full-time, 35 Hours Per Week

The Opportunity:

  • Identifies and conceptualizes project topics and opportunities that advance CSFS’ program and policy agenda; directs proposal development process for complex proposals; identifies and seeks funding sources for projects; writes proposals; and negotiates with funders and collaborators on required revisions to proposals.
  • Researches complex policy issues provincially/nationally/internationally and provides background information, data analyses, policy evaluations, options and recommendations to support all levels of the organization in the development of the programs and services.
  • Uses statistical and qualitative assessment methods to analyze and compare data, trends and best practices from various sources; integrates and supplies statistical and analytical information in graphic and narrative formats; and ensures the accuracy and currency of information.
  • Provides advice on policy research methods, sampling techniques, questionnaire design, data analysis and other evaluation processes.

What You Will Bring to The Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Social Services or related field
  • Masters or PhD Degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Social Services or related field preferred
  • Five years’ experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis in a complex health or social services environment.

Wage Range: The target hourly hiring range for this position is $43.7197 to $56.6182. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
