Engineering Technician at Maradyne Corporation – Cleveland, Ohio

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for setting up and performing testing; general lab maintenance; fabrication of engineering prototypes; organization of engineering storage; and general assistance for engineering design and development projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and performance testing of air cleaners and precleaners to applicable standards (MIL, ISO, SAE, etc.).
• Fabrication of air filter and precleaner prototypes, including both in-house machining and fabrication, and outsourcing of required parts and assemblies.
• Setup and performance testing of air cleaners to support production of military air filter units.
• Responsible for general lab maintenance and ordering of required lab supplies.
• Assist in other engineering design and development projects as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL SKILLS

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate both inside and outside the company.· Must have good mechanical aptitude and reasoning.· Must have good organizational skills.· General understanding of fluid dynamics a plus.

Minimum 2 years related experience in a manufacturing or technical environment required.· 2-year engineering technology degree a plus.

Microsoft Office proficiency required (Word, Excel, Outlook).· Proficiency with CAD helpful; Solidworks and/or Draftsight experience a plus.· Proficiency with MRP software a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is moderately active with the majority of the work done in the production area or lab. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required on an occasional basis as well as walking, bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting.
