Job Description
Our Nook Volleyball Academy is looking for qualified volleyball coaches for the travel volleyball season. Spooky Nook Volleyball provides elite and showcase travel volleyball teams for ages 12U through 18U.
NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:
- PA State Police criminal history record,
- PA Child Abuse Clearance, and
- FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Essential Coaching Functions
- Attend and evaluate player try-outs
- Schedule practice times and locations
- Teach skills and strategies of the game to players of all ages and skill levels
- Research and demonstrate the newest volleyball related drills
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations
- Provide direction, encouragement and motivation for athletes
- Set game day line-ups and make necessary in-game coaching moves
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- PA Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance: Must be dated within the past 5 years and specifically for employment (not volunteer).
- NOTE: If you do not have already these clearances, you will be provided with instructions when an offer of employment is made. Results can take up to 4-6 weeks. Both clearances must be presented before employment can begin.
- Previous volleyball coaching experience and/or collegiate playing experience required
- Minimum 1 year coaching experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older to head coach.
- Dependable transportation to and from practices and tournaments.
- Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Experience working with athletes of varying age groups
- Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
