Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient procurement, inventory management, and distribution of pharmaceutical products and supplies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clinical operations with uninterrupted access to necessary medications and supplies. This position will require flexibility and be required to assist the fulfillment/shipping team as needed during peak hours while maintaining primary responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the purchasing process for pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and related inventory.
- Maintain optimal stock levels by monitoring usage trends, expiration dates, and lead times.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare personnel to forecast inventory needs.
- Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts; resolve discrepancies and coordinate returns or credits as necessary.
- Utilize inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, pharmacy automation software) to track inventory in real time.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and cost savings.
- Communicate with management in a timely manner back-orders and supply shortages.
- Participate with leading physical cycle counts and quality assurance activities related to procurement and inventory.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or pharmacy-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacy procurement or healthcare supply chain.
- Experience with inventory management software and purchasing systems required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and inventory control practices.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Working Conditions:
- May require lifting of boxes or containers up to 50 lbs.
- Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch.
- Standard business hours with the need for flexibility in response to supply chain and operational needs.
- Must be in-person in Riverview, FL.
- Full time position. $50,000 - $75,000 a year
