Technical Intern (Roadside Management) at State of Missouri – Jefferson City, Missouri

This position will be filled at a salary no higher than the posted maximum salary.

Job Location: Central Office, 830 MoDOT Drive, Jefferson City, MO

The technical intern (Roadside) performs semi-skilled technical or paraprofessional duties in the management of the roadway maintenance program. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

What you’ll do:

• • Plants, fertilizes, and maintains flowers, trees, and shrubs at the highway gardens.

    · Performs general maintenance on exhibit buildings and surrounding area such as painting, litter removal, and minor repairs.

    · Mows and weeds highway gardens.

    · Performs routine maintenance to lawn mowers and related equipment used at the highway gardens.

    · Works flexible hours during the Missouri State Fair helping run the highway gardens display.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant 2-year/associate’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
• 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
• Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.

Special working conditions and job characteristics:

· This is a wage, non-benefits eligible position, working no more than 1,039 hours per year. 

· The typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
