Background

We are a family-owned commercial general contractor based in Columbus, Ohio. We are seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent with the experience and initiative to run projects from start to finish with normal oversight. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget. Ground-up construction experience is strongly preferred.

This is a full-time position offering medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k with a match, and paid time off.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Project Leadership

    • Oversee all phases of construction from site prep to closeout.

    • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and client interactions.

    • Monitor and drive project schedules and milestones.

  • Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.

    • Proactively identify issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

    • Uphold high standards of workmanship across all trades.

  • Safety & Site Management

    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site at all times.

    • Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce compliance with OSHA standards.

    • Manage logistics for equipment, deliveries, waste hauling, and site access.

  • Collaboration & Communication

    • Serve as the primary on-site contact for project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.

    • Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.

    • Mentor field staff and promote a strong team culture.

  • Self-Performance

    • Maintain clean and presentable job sites at all times.

    • Perform carpentry-related tasks as needed.

    • Direct and assist in completion project punch out work.

    • Handle various repairs or small-scale construction tasks as needed.

Education & Experience
  • Required: 5+ years of commercial construction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Preferred: Ground-up construction experience.

  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, safety standards, and scheduling.

  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools a plus.

License/Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License (required)

  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant certifications (preferred)
