About the Role:

The Medical Assistant at Express Family Clinic plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical activities. This position involves performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to facilitate patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with medical procedures. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for handling medication administration, drawing blood, and processing specimens accurately and efficiently. Additionally, this role requires maintaining a clean environment and ensuring the facility is cleaned and maintained daily. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to delivering high-quality healthcare services by providing compassionate patient support and effective clinical assistance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification or diploma in Medical Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Proven experience in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
  • Proven experience in medication and vaccine administration.
  • Knowledge of medical instruments and sterilization techniques.
  • Ability to accurately measure and record vital signs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working alongside Nurse Practitioners or in a similar healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR or First Aid.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
  • Assist healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners, during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties such as drawing blood and processing specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain examination rooms to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Manage administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.

The required skills such as Medical Assisting, phlebotomy, and specimen processing are essential for performing clinical tasks accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.
