About EBCLC The East Bay Community Law Center provides free legal services, advocacy, and education to under-resourced communities in the East Bay. We strive to center women of color and other historically excluded communities in the pursuit of thriving, equitable lives.
Why Volunteer with EBCLC
- Be a part of advancing racial justice in the East Bay by helping underserved & historically excluded communities access vital legal support.
- Gain hands-on, practical experience contributing directly to EBCLC’s clinics and projects—where your work with clients, policy advocacy, and community outreach truly matters.
- Receive high-quality mentorship & supervision that builds your capacity to act as an advocate, problem solver, and legal professional.
- Grow as a leader in social justice: contribute to systemic change through EBCLC’s holistic, collaborative model and become part of a pipeline for future justice-minded lawyers & advocates.
Volunteer Roles & Opportunities EBCLC offers a variety of ways to engage:
- Pro bono legal work (for qualified attorneys or law students) in practice areas such as Housing, Immigration, Health & Welfare, and Youth & Education Defense.
- Other Non-Legal Volunteer Support Roles: Help with outreach, communications, events, translation, or administrative tasks as needs arise.
Note: UC Berkeley law students seeking to volunteer through a Clinical Program should complete the process directly through the law school.
