About This Position

About the Role:

The Groomer at City Line Veterinary Center plays a vital role in maintaining the health, hygiene, and appearance of our animal patients. This position involves providing professional grooming services tailored to the specific needs of each pet, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. The Groomer will collaborate closely with veterinary staff to monitor animal behavior and health indicators during grooming sessions. This role requires a compassionate approach combined with technical expertise to handle various breeds and temperaments effectively. Ultimately, the Groomer contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of both pets and their owners by delivering exceptional grooming care. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification or diploma from a recognized pet grooming program.
  • Proven experience in grooming a variety of dog breeds and sizes.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and safe handling techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and veterinary staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a veterinary or animal hospital setting.
  • Additional certifications in specialized grooming techniques or pet first aid.
  • Familiarity with breed-specific grooming standards and trends.
  • Customer service experience in a pet care environment.
  • Ability to assist with basic animal care tasks beyond grooming.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and owner preferences.
  • Assess the condition of pets’ skin, coat, and nails, and report any abnormalities or health concerns to veterinary staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized grooming environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good working order.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and provide advice on pet care and maintenance.
  • Handle animals gently and confidently to minimize stress and ensure a positive grooming experience.
