SCHEDULE
This role is on-call. Hours vary and include weekend coverage.

ABOUT Corazón
CPLC Corazón is a client-centered center with bilingual staff where all cultures are welcome and celebrated. We have been providing Substance Abuse treatment since 1983, offering a variety of treatment modalities.

Corazón features a range of substance abuse services, including group, individual, family, and couples therapy, in addition to nightly community 12-step support groups. Our 65-bed, ADA-compliant residential facility provides all meals, an on-site laundry facility free of charge, a basketball court, and a garden. We offer holistic health techniques including yoga, tai chi, chi gong, and sweat lodge.


ABOUT THE ROLE
The Client Support Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of the transitional living, to include oversight of the safety and well-being of residents on the Corazón transitional living. The Client Support Specialist works with diverse populations and is part of a multi-disciplinary team. They have a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • New resident intakes and orientations
  • Ensuring safety of property and residents through continuous monitoring of campus
  • Providing recovery focused support
  • Checking resident attendance and recording for census counts
  • Closing down facility at designated curfew each night, as applicable
  • Monitoring client chores
  • Coordinating transportation of residents, goods & services

  • Desire to work with unique populations such as seriously mentally ill, homeless, and/or justice-connected men.
  • Ability to see potential and worth at the core of each individual, regardless of their circumstances.
  • Experience managing crisis situations and thriving in active environments where plans may pivot day-to-day.
  • Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and professionalism.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education/Background

  1. Must meet one of the criteria below for a Behavioral Health Technician:
    1. Master's degree or bachelor's degree in a field related to behavioral health;
    2. Registered nurse;
    3. Physician assistant who is not working as a medical practitioner;
    4. Bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience;
    5. Associate's degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience;
    6. High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and meets one of the two below:
      1. credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to behavioral health completed no more than four years before the date the individual begins providing behavioral health services and two years of full-time behavioral health work experience or
      2. four years of full­ time behavioral health work experience;
    7. Licensed as a practical nurse, according to A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 15, with at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience.
  2. Must have or obtain within 30 days of hire:
    • CPR/First Aid Certification
    • CPI certification
    • AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
    • current TB test
  3. Valid Arizona Driver’s license, vehicle insurance and ability to be covered under CPLC’s Policy.
  4. Experience working in a residential setting.
  5. Knowledge of behavioral health systems and community resources.
  6. Must be able to pass a drug test upon hire and adhere to the CPLC chemical use policy.
