Custodian-Community Center- Part-Time in Vienna, Virginia at Town of Vienna

Are you detail-oriented and take pride in a job well-done? The Department of Parks & Recreation is looking for a new part-time custodian to join a team of outgoing and passionate staff.

The ideal candidate cares about creating a welcoming, safe, and clean environment by performing general janitorial and maintenance work in the cleaning and care of the Vienna Community Center and surrounding area. They will also help set up rooms for recreation programs, classes, and work on a team to support special events in the Town.

This position works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Cleans and maintains building.

Checks schedule for daily/weekly programs/activities; and assists with room preparation as needed.

Maintains security of building at all times; secures doors and windows after business hours.

Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals.

Assists with inspection of facilities.

Operates various equipment including floor cleaners, leaf blower, vacuum cleaner.

Performs housekeeping duties such as dusting, cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, mopping vacuum cleaning, replacing and replenishing supplies, washing walls and windows, and cleaning restrooms.

Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preference may be given to applicants with one to two years of custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
