ABOUT DE COLORES
CPLC De Colores provides a safe, secure place for families to heal from the traumatizing effects of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Shelter and community-based services meet survivors where they are to help them discover their strengths and regain their freedom.

The De Colores Shelter provides emergency housing, case management, legal and housing support, support groups, transportation, youth services, housing and employment support, and referrals to other resources. We offer nurturing spaces for survivors and their families to heal, including a meditation room, a garden, and a special area for youth activities.


SCHEDULE
This role is full-time, Monday-Friday, with some on-call and holiday coverage if needed. This role is expected to run through September 2026, with the potential to be extended upon review and programmatic need.


POSITION SUMMARY
This role provides support with recovery and resiliency and domestic violence services to all family members assigned while they participate in the De Colores program and assists in seeking resources necessary to support their independence.

The Recovery and Resiliency Coordinator provides appropriate economic empowerment supportive services and individual case management in a shelter setting to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. They support clients to increase their knowledge of economic community resources through a variety of ways, including

  • development of Economic and Skills Assessment upon intake at the shelter - and community-based programs,
  • enrollment in De Colores' Financial Literacy Education,
  • designing and delivering workshops on economic development, self-esteem, healing groups, trauma-informed care and crisis support.

The Recovery and Resiliency Coordinator may accompany clients to appointments, assist with technology and processes. They may also be asked to provide coverage support at the shelter as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Must be able to work with families in crisis and be able to offer supportive services.
  • Must have case management/Advocacy experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under automotive insurance policy.
  • Must have current Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to have within 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to be able to move objects that are 50 pounds or more.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule as needed per program requirements.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills and relaying operational information to personnel at all levels in the program.
  • Must pass a background screening prior to start.
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an active environment with clientele who require special attention.
