Position Summary
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role performs inventory counts, monitors stock levels, replenishes supplies, maintains inventory records, and assists with general warehouse activities as needed. The Inventory Clerk works in a fast-paced environment and is expected to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and accountability for completing tasks on time with minimal supervision. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively while independently managing daily responsibilities. The position requires standing for extended periods and regularly lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Experience in a warehouse or inventory control environment is preferred.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
- Perform inventory cycle counts and record the correct count(s) using our inventory software (Shiphero) on a tablet
- Unload and Receive finished product deliveries using our inventory software (Odoo and Shiphero)
- Perform the required QC inspections for all incoming products. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
- Put-Away the received items in their designated location and record it in the inventory software while following FIFO
- Replenish product in pickable locations while following FIFO
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors (Inventory Problem Solving)
- Provide assistance to other warehouse workers, as needed
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Attach or label products with necessary identification information
- Move pallets of product to different locations in the warehouse
- Consolidate stock from multiple bins into one
- Ensure paperwork/packing lists are turned into the Inventory Supervisor
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately count, verify, and record inventory.
- Ability to perform inventory cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies through investigation and problem-solving.
- Basic computer and tablet proficiency, including navigating applications, entering data, and retrieving information.
- Experience using inventory management software or the ability to quickly learn systems such as ShipHero and Odoo.
- Ability to operate barcode scanners and other inventory control equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines and productivity expectations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse team members and supervisors.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory management.
- Ability to identify damaged, defective, or inaccurate inventory and report issues promptly.
- Ability to safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks, pallet trucks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Basic math skills required for inventory counts, quantity verification, and inventory adjustments.
- Commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping standards, and company procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Previous warehouse, inventory control, receiving, or distribution experience preferred.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, inventory control, receiving, shipping, or distribution environment preferred.
- Experience performing inventory counts, stock replenishment, receiving, or inventory reconciliation preferred.
- Experience using inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), or ERP software preferred; experience with ShipHero and/or Odoo is a plus.
- Basic proficiency with computers, tablets, barcode scanners, and Microsoft Office applications or similar software required.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, pallet trucks, or other warehouse equipment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role is primarily based in a warehouse environment with frequent movement between storage, receiving, and shipping areas, as well as regular collaboration with Production, Procurement, and Fulfillment teams. It requires the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods, frequently lift and carry items up to 50 lbs., and regularly bend, reach, and handle materials. The position involves using standard warehouse equipment such as scales, pallet jacks, and inventory scanners, as well as performing data entry and record-keeping tasks. Visual acuity is essential for inspecting product quality, reading labels, and verifying inventory records, and occasional travel between company warehouse locations may be required.
