Advanced Dermatology, P.C. is seeking a motivated and reliable Medical Assistant to join our team Part Time in our West Islip office!

The Medical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to licensed medical providers, as allowable by law, to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth, efficient office operations.

- Prepare patients for visits by escorting them to exam rooms, providing gowns, and assisting with positioning
- Verify patient information, including medical history and vital signs along with confirming reason for visit
- Support providers during examinations and assist with basic clinical procedures (as allowable by law)
- Prepare and handle specimens, perform basic in-office lab tasks, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Assist with patient care tasks such as dressing changes, suture removal, and prescription coordination (as directed)
- Answer phones, return patient calls promptly, and assist with general office duties
- Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with administrative workflows
- Contribute to a positive, efficient, and enjoyable office atmosphere
- Perform other duties as assigned
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
• Medical assistant certification (CMA / RMA) preferred
• 1+ year of experience working as a medical assistant (dermatology experience strongly preferred)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Friendly and compassionate disposition with strong interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely
patient flow
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
EMA experience is a plus!
