Job Description

Senior SDET

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior SDET in United States.

This role is a senior technical leadership position focused on defining and driving validation strategy for complex, high-scale financial systems. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, and correctness across APIs, services, and end-to-end workflows within a fast-paced engineering environment. Acting as a quality owner within a value lane, you will partner closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to shape testing strategies and improve overall system resilience. The role requires strong expertise in test automation, distributed systems, and modern CI/CD practices. You will also play a key role in improving observability, reducing production defects, and increasing release confidence. This is a highly impactful position for engineers who combine deep technical testing expertise with strong leadership and system thinking.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and implement comprehensive automated validation strategies across APIs, services, and complex end-to-end workflows.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, reliable test automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Own validation for complex features, including edge cases, failure scenarios, performance, and system resilience under load.
  • Lead debugging and root cause analysis for complex system defects using logs, metrics, and distributed traces.
  • Improve system observability and testability by collaborating with engineers on design and architecture decisions.
  • Define validation approaches that balance test coverage, execution efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Ensure systems meet standards for reliability, performance, correctness, and user experience before production release.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to align validation strategy with customer workflows and requirements.
  • Mentor engineers on testing methodologies, automation practices, and debugging techniques.
  • Continuously improve testing frameworks, engineering practices, and system quality across the team.

Requirements:

  • 5–8+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or SDET roles within complex systems.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing).
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated validation workflows.
  • Strong backend and systems knowledge, including REST APIs, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience validating systems under performance, load, and failure scenarios.
  • Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills using logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Experience improving system observability and testability in production-grade environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data validation and analysis.
  • Proven ability to define quality strategies, identify risks, and influence engineering decisions.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving team-wide testing practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools for testing, debugging, or productivity improvements.
  • Experience with tools such as Playwright, JavaScript, Snowflake, or similar modern testing/data stacks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and product teams.
  • Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, or regulated financial systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package with bonus eligibility.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Health savings and flexible spending accounts.
  • Mental health and wellness support programs for employees and dependents.
  • Gym reimbursement and virtual wellness initiatives.
  • Generous PTO starting at 3 weeks, with unlimited PTO after the first year.
  • Education reimbursement and leadership development opportunities.
  • Certification support programs for professional growth.
  • Financial wellness tools and employee discount programs.
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact fintech systems shaping modern payments and banking solutions.
  • Collaborative, ownership-driven culture focused on innovation and engineering excellence.
