About the Role:
As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food preparation and production within a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your primary objective is to ensure that all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality. You will collaborate closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to manage food inventory, maintain cleanliness, and uphold safety standards. This role requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods, move objects, and navigate kitchen spaces efficiently. Ultimately, your work will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for customers by providing delicious, well-prepared meals in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen setting.
- Ability to read and speak English to understand recipes, safety instructions, and communicate with team members.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle kitchen tools and equipment safely.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to follow directions from the Head Chef and work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working under a Head Chef or in a supervisory kitchen role.
- Formal culinary training or certification from an accredited culinary program.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering kitchen supplies.
- Familiarity with diverse cuisines and menu development.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing kitchen demands and multitask efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality guidelines.
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper sanitation of workstations and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to coordinate meal preparation and service.
- Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving kitchen equipment or ingredients.
- Climb stairs and navigate kitchen spaces safely while carrying out duties.
