REPORTS TO: Repair Manager

FLSA: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (In office/Hybrid)

Position Summary

The Repair Technician is responsible for learning and supporting the repair, setup, calibration, and the testing of recording and control instruments and test equipment. This role ensures systems and components meet established specifications while following formal training, instructions, and established procedures under immediate supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learning and assisting with the repair, setup, calibration, and testing of the recording and controlling instruments/test equipment used.
  • Ensure systems and components meet established specifications.
  • Employ knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular product.
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Perform necessary repairs to return product to operational state.
  • Work under immediate supervision of group lead or supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or 1-2 years’ experience as an Electronics Technician or related field, or equivalent combination experience and education. Equivalent military experience acceptable.
  • Demonstrated ability to use bench-top soldering/desoldering equipment for installing, removing and replacing fine-pitch surface mount electronic components.
  • Strong computer skills; must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of bench-top electronic test instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and PC-based test instrumentation.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, diagrams, schematics and work instructions.
  • Works well with other team members.
  • Required to complete formal training in area of specialty.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
