2026 NAACP Creative Fellowship in Partnership with Adobe
Position: Fellow, NAACP Creative Fellowship program, in partnership with Adobe
Location: In-person in Los Angeles, or limited virtual opportunity
Duration: 14 weeks (September 14th – December 18th, 2026)
Program Summary:
Adobe has partnered with NAACP to support the launch of the NAACP Creative Fellowship. This fellowship is a 14-week paid program designed to equip emerging post-production professionals with skills in video editing, motion graphics, sound design, and social media content creation. This next-level opportunity is open to individuals with some editing experience who are ready to launch their careers in post.

Position Summary:
The NAACP Creative Fellowship program, in partnership with Adobe, is a 14-week fellowship that includes training, mentorship and hands-on workplace experience. This Fellowship is for individuals who have some experience with video editing.
The program includes:
- Intensive week-long retreat to launch the fellowship in Los Angeles. This retreat will include:
- Four days of training, led by an Adobe Certified Trainer on Creative Cloud, focused on Text-Based Editing in Premiere Pro, Proxy Editing via NAS, Multi-Cam Editing and Content Creation with Adobe Express.
- Meet and greet with NAACP leadership
- And more surprises
- Travel to Los Angeles will be provided, as needed.
- Mentorship & Career Coaching:
- NAACP will assemble a team of 4 specialized mentors. Mentorship includes both one-on-one guidance and collaborative group sessions called Craft Conversations.
- Mentors will represent key areas of post-production:
- Editing
- Motion Graphics
- Audio Design
- Storytelling
- Craft Conversations: Exclusive sessions led by industry leaders exploring the business and creative sides of post-production. These conversations will also be made available to the public via NAACP social media channels.
- Hands-On Industry Experience: Fellows will work on live productions and marketing campaigns with NAACP+ Studios including:
- In-studio and remote editing projects
- Social content creation
- Live podcast production
- Tools & Creative Support: Each fellow receives:
- A video editor’s kit (Mac laptop, headphones, keyboard, muse, etc.)
- A 3-year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud (All Apps)
Responsibilities/Duties
- Complete all scheduled days of kickoff week training with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Complete workplace rotations (20 hours per week for 14 weeks), using Adobe Creative Cloud, reporting to NAACP.
- Meet with mentor a minimum of 6 times through the duration of the program
- Participate in Craft Conversation events during the program.
Qualifications
- The NAACP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. - Applicants must have 1-2 years of training or experience with editing as a non-union editor or assistant editor.
- Applicants must have basic proficiency with a professional non-linear editing tool (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro, but will accept Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, and Blackmagic Resolve); expect work rotation duties to be performed exclusively with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Applicants must be available to come to Los Angeles to participate in the kickoff week, June 2-6, 2025 (plus travel time). Travel expenses will be covered for non-local participants.
- Applicants must be available to work part-time for 14 weeks as an NAACP/Adobe Fellow from September 14th – December 18th, 2026.

The application deadline is Friday, July 24th, 2026. Selected participants will be awarded a stipend of $14,000 ($50/hour). The stipend will be paid on a bi-weekly basis through the NAACP payroll system and is subject to applicable state, local, and federal taxes.
