Helper Electrician - Madison, TN in Madison, Tennessee at Stones River Electric

Stones River Electric is looking for candidates to join our EMS and Special Projects Team as a Helper Electrician. We are a growing company looking for motivated individuals who want to build their electrical career and grow with us.

The role of an EMS and Special Projects Helper Electrician supports lead electricians with the installation of Energy Management Systems, Building Automation Systems, low voltage controls, lighting controls, sensors, wiring, conduit, and related electrical work. This position is a great opportunity for someone with electrical experience who wants to continue learning in a fast growing field.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist lead electricians with installing control panels, field controllers, sensors, actuators, conduit, and wiring for Building Automation Systems
• Help with low voltage wiring and terminations, including CAT5, CAT5e, and CAT6
• Assist with lighting control installations and energy management system projects
• Help troubleshoot electrical, low voltage, and control system issues under the direction of a lead electrician
• Read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, and project instructions
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and standard electrical equipment safely
• Help document completed work using company provided systems and devices
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, NEC requirements, and local regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the electrical field
• Experience with commercial electrical work preferred
• Knowledge of conduit bending is a plus
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring, lighting controls, and low voltage systems
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a lead electrician or project team
• Must be comfortable using an iPad, phone, or computer for work documentation
• Must be able to travel for projects, typically 1 to 2 weeks at a time
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Must be drug free. We are a drug free workplace.

Typical Work Environment

• Commercial, industrial, and occasional residential settings
• Work may involve ladders, lifts, mechanical rooms, ceilings, crawl spaces, and active job sites
• Travel may be required depending on project needs
• Work may include both electrical and low voltage installations
