Job Description
Position Summary
GLC Business Services is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Risk Management Specialist to support one of our growing construction clients. This position is ideal for someone looking to build or advance a career in construction risk management, contracts, insurance, and compliance.
The Risk Management Specialist will work closely with project managers, preconstruction teams, legal counsel, insurance providers, and field personnel to support contract administration, insurance compliance, safety initiatives, and overall project risk management. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesContract Administration- Prepare and review owner contracts, including recommended revisions for management review.
- Coordinate contract review meetings with preconstruction and project teams.
- Assist with owner contract negotiations alongside legal counsel and company leadership.
- Create, maintain, and track owner contract exhibits and supporting documentation.
- Conduct annual reviews and updates of standard owner contracts and master subcontract agreements.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers and carriers to obtain certificates of insurance.
- Assist with obtaining, reviewing, and tracking payment and performance bonds.
- Support annual insurance renewal processes and maintain insurance documentation.
- Assist with subcontractor insurance compliance and documentation reviews.
- Maintain risk management records and ensure documentation remains current.
- Maintain jobsite and distribution lists for third-party safety inspections.
- Track corrective actions resulting from safety inspections to ensure timely completion.
- Provide jobsite safety updates for monthly insurance and risk management meetings.
- Assist with annual updates to company safety manuals and jobsite orientation materials.
- Ensure all active jobsites maintain current OSHA-required postings and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate and schedule internal risk management and risk transfer training sessions.
- Support legal and risk management matters as assigned.
- Maintain organized project documentation and compliance records.
- Assist with special projects and additional administrative responsibilities as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 3–6 years of experience in risk management, construction insurance, contracts, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience within the construction industry strongly preferred.
- Experience with contract administration or contract law preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Professional demeanor with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn new systems, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction with construction project teams.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
- Regular use of computers, mobile devices, and office equipment.
- Occasional visits to active construction sites, which may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction noise.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support project deadlines and business needs
