Forklift Operator - 30k Capacity in East Riverton, New Jersey at Sea Box, Inc.

Operate 30k forklifts and other industrial equipment to move materials throughout the warehouse and yard.

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate must be a certified forklift operator for 30k capacity and be able to move 20' and 40' shipping containers in the yard and onto trucks using heavy-duty container handling equipment. Must be detail-oriented and a team player.

Responsibilities:

· Accident prevention – actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.

· Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.

· Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self- inspection of your work product.

· Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.

· Move controls to drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks, cars, or tractors and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.

· Move levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.

· Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.

· Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.

· Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tanks.

· Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data on tags or labels.

· Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.

· Turn valves and open chutes to dump, spray, or release materials from dump cars or storage bins into hoppers.

· Signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials.

· Positions that involve operating company vehicles require the ability to perform duties safely and to meet all applicable medical certification or fitness-for-duty standards, with our without reasonable accommodation. This includes safely operating company vehicles and satisfying all relevant medical and physical qualification requirements.

· Lifting production objects of up to 50lbs.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience: The candidate should possess 1-2 years’ related experience.

Location: This position is onsite (non-remote) at the Company’s corporate headquarters in Cinnaminson, NJ. This position may occasionally require working overtime and/or working outside of the Company’s normal hours of operation.
