Temporary/Locum General Dentist — Austin, TX
$115–$185 per hour | Weekly Pay | Flexible Scheduling | Austin Metro Area
About the Opportunity
Talencia, a healthcare staffing firm with more than 40 years of operating history, is seeking Texas-licensed General Dentists for temporary and locum tenens placements with dental practices throughout the Austin metro area. Whether you're between permanent positions, supplementing your income, semi-retired, or simply prefer the flexibility of locum work, we offer consistent placement opportunities matched to your clinical style and schedule.
What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive general dentistry care — exams, diagnoses, restorative treatment, extractions, and treatment planning — as coverage for practices during provider absences, transitions, or periods of increased patient demand. Assignments range from single-day coverage to multi-week and ongoing part-time arrangements.
Compensation & Schedule
- $115–$185 per hour, based on experience, procedures performed, and assignment scope
- Weekly pay directly from Talencia — no waiting on individual offices to process payment
- Your choice of W-2 or 1099 — you decide how you're paid
- Daily, weekly, and ongoing assignments available — you choose what fits your schedule
- No practice management, billing, or administrative burden — just clinical care
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Texas dental license (DDS or DMD)
- Current DEA registration (or willingness to obtain for assignments requiring it)
- Active CPR/BLS certification
- Professional liability coverage
- Comfortable adapting quickly to new practice environments, teams, and software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Open Dental experience a plus)
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical practice experience preferred
