This role is part of our Aftermarket services team under our Technology and Solutions Group (TSG), which is dedicated to developing and supporting next‑generation test solutions while also ensuring that our current and legacy test systems remain fully supported and reliable throughout their entire lifecycle.

About the Job

The Field Service Technician provides on‑site and remote support for Circuit Check test systems, ensuring customers receive responsive, knowledgeable, and professional service. This role combines hands‑on technical work, customer interaction, troubleshooting expertise, and collaboration with internal engineering teams. When not engaged at customer site or remote the Field Service Technician will assist CCI facility production needs or be utilized in quoting and fault determination.

Travel is required up to 50% of the time, including visits to customer sites and occasional trips to Circuit Check facilities for training or issue resolution.

Preferred location: Maple Grove, MN or Burlington, Ontario, though remote candidates based in US or Canada will be considered.

Major Areas of Accountability

Customer Support & Field ServicePerform on‑site and remote maintenance for in‑circuit and functional test systemsServe as the primary customer‑facing technician during service visits, demonstrating professionalism, tact, and strong communication skillsTroubleshoot system faults, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actionsProvide guidance to customers on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.Remote Troubleshooting & Technical ExpertiseSupport customers through remote diagnostics and fault recognition when not travelingCollaborate with engineering teams to resolve escalated issues and document solutionsWork with Product Managers and Engineers to inform future improvements to CCI products from documented field results.Aftermarket Quoting Support
    Assist the aftermarket group by preparing parts quotes, revision updates, and service recommendationsAssist in supporting ongoing customer relationships through responsive communication and technical clarity.
Training and Internal CollaborationTravel to Circuit Check facilities for hands‑on training or to assist with complex issue resolutionProvide customer training on system use, maintenance, and data collection toolsOffer feedback to engineering and product teams based on field insights.

    2-3 years of Technical School training in electronics/mechanical, or equivalent military trainingMinimum of 3 years of work experience in electronics performing similar functions

Required:

High school diploma and minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in a technical role such as electronics technician, field service technician, test technician, or maintenance technician within a B2B, manufacturing, or industrial technology environmentFamiliarity with in‑circuit test (ICT), functional test systems, automated test equipment (ATE), electronics troubleshooting, or production test environmentsDemonstrated ability to diagnose hardware and software faults, perform system repairs, and follow troubleshooting processesStrong customer‑facing skills with the ability to work professionally on‑site, communicate clearly, and build trust with operators, engineers, and production teamsAbility to manage service visits, remote support tasks, and documentation with strong organization, follow‑through, and attention to detailComfortable working independently in the field with a proactive, self‑directed approach and a strong sense of urgencyWillingness to work additional hours during periods of high service demand or urgent customer needsAbility to travel up to 50%, including customer sites, trade events, and visits to Circuit Check facilities for training or issue resolutionStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to represent Circuit Check professionally in customer environmentsFamiliarity with electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or test system integrators is beneficialPreferred

    Technical certifications or vocational training in electronics, electrical technology, mechatronics, or related fieldsExperience with test data systems, basic scripting, or software‑driven test environments (LabVIEW, Python, C/C++) is a plusExperience using IFS or similar ERP systems for service orders, parts management, or documentationExperience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems for logging service activities and reviewing customer interactionsPrior exposure to Circuit Check systems or similar test equipmentExperience interacting with customers on job site and delivering technical training.

Compensation includes hourly base rate and performance-based quarterly profit sharing. Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and retirement programs. Paid leave includes paid time off and holiday pay.
