Job Description
Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting - District Office
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financials production for the San Jacinto College Foundation, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, and cash management.
- Responsible for planning and overseeing the annual audit with an external auditing firm. Support preparation of Form 990 and other required filings.
- Compile annual spending from endowments, named scholarships, and other Foundation funds according to the Foundation Spending Policy.
- Create annual Foundation budget and the annual College budget for the office of resource development.
- Work with investment advisors on all Foundation assets and ensure the investment policy allocations are current. Oversee rebalancing to keep investments within the investment policy.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for Foundation leadership and Board of Directors. Develop and present financial reports and analyses to support strategic decision making.
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, donor restrictions and applicable state and institutional policies.
- Attend various College and Foundation events and meetings.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting.
- Experience with financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
- High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Master’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in nonprofit or higher education.
Salary Grade: 118
