Physical Therapist – RWJBarnabas Health

At RWJBarnabas Health, the Physical Therapist plays a vital role in helping patients restore mobility, improve function, and achieve their highest level of independence. Working with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, they evaluate patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based therapy programs that promote recovery and improve quality of life.


A typical day for a Physical Therapist may include:

  • Evaluates pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients to determine functional limitations and rehabilitation needs
  • Develops individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive patient evaluations and established rehabilitation goals
  • Implements treatment programs using standard physical therapy procedures and evidence-based practices
  • Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes
  • Educates patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and strategies to improve independence
  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with professional, regulatory, and organizational standards
  • Promotes a safe treatment environment by following patient safety protocols and best practices
  • Utilizes clinical judgment to establish realistic rehabilitation goals and optimize patient outcomes
  • Provides compassionate, patient-centered care while encouraging patient participation throughout the rehabilitation process

To be considered for this Physical Therapist opportunity:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred
  • Current New Jersey Physical Therapist License required
  • Current CPR Certification required
  • Availability to work a full-time outpatient schedule, including at least two evenings per week
