Operations Specialist in SANDY, Utah at Mountain West Financial, LLC

The Operations Specialist serves as a cross-functional operational resource responsible for ensuring business continuity across the mortgage operation. This role provides experienced processing support for pipeline fluctuations, vacation coverage, and peak production periods while maintaining proficiency across multiple operational disciplines. As business volumes change, the specialist flexes into other operational functions to support efficiency, continuous improvement, and organizational resilience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Review and verify the loan application and documents for accuracy and completeness per program guidelines, completing loan data and information into the Loan Origination System.

Ensure all loan documentation and data comply with current internal lending and regulatory guidelines.

Work closely with Correspondent Lenders, Account Executives, Wholesale Brokers, Title Companies, and internal departments to prepare, collect, and complete required transaction documentation.

Manages pipelines and loan status to meet contract dates while pushing critical information and needed items back to external Lenders, Brokers, and third parties.

Identify and resolve loan level and loan files issues or documentation discrepancies.

Prepare and submit loan files to underwriting in a timely and efficient manner, clears required loan conditions, and coordinates needed items and documentation for file closings.

Stay updated on mortgage industry guidelines, company policies, and compliance requirements.

Manages multiple pipelines at different loan manufacturing stages to efficiently provide updates and communicate status and needs.

Cross training in multiple departments to serve as a strong resource.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience

2+ years of experience processing Conventional and FHA mortgage loans is required. Experience processing non-QM and FHA manually underwritten loans is preferred.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements
