Job Description

Position Description:

Responsible for providing high-quality member service through accurate transaction processing, account servicing, and identification of member financial needs. Supports branch operations by promoting Credit Union products and services, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and contributing to overall branch performance. Delivers a professional, efficient, and member-focused experience in alignment with the Credit Union’s mission, values, and culture.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Member Service & Relationship Management
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and professional service to members and prospective members.
  • Assists members with account inquiries, problem resolution, and general financial service needs.
  • Builds and maintains strong member relationships through proactive engagement and personalized service.
  • Educates members on Credit Union products, services, and digital banking tools.
  • Escalates complex member concerns to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Transaction Processing & Account Servicing
  • Processes member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Performs account maintenance such as address changes, account updates, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintains accurate cash drawer balances and adheres to established cash handling procedures.
  • Balances daily transactions and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensures proper documentation and recordkeeping for all transactions and member interactions.
  • Sales & Product Support
  • Identifies member needs and recommends appropriate Credit Union products and services.
  • Supports branch sales initiatives by processing and funding consumer loan products, opening and maintaining deposit accounts, and cross-selling ancillary services.
  • Participates in marketing campaigns and branch promotions to increase product awareness and adoption.
  • Contributes to branch goals related to member growth, product penetration, and service excellence
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Adheres to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (BSA, AML, OFAC, Reg CC, Reg E, etc.).
  • Maintains awareness of fraud prevention practices and identifies suspicious activity.
  • Completes required compliance training and applies knowledge in daily operations.
  • Protects member information and ensures confidentiality at all times.
  • Supports audit processes and responds to operational or compliance findings as directed.
  • Team Collaboration & Operational Support
  • Collaborates with branch staff and other departments to ensure a seamless member experience.
  • Assists with branch opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Supports overall branch operations, including administrative and service functions.
  • Participates in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  • Member transactions are processed accurately with minimal errors or discrepancies.
  • Member service standards are consistently met, with positive feedback and timely issue resolution.
  • Individual referral and service goals are achieved in support of branch objectives.
  • Compliance with Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements is maintained.
  • Cash handling and operational processes are performed with accuracy and integrity.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration contribute to overall branch performance.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and alignment with the Credit Union’s mission and values.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One to two years of customer service, retail banking, or financial services experience preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build member relationships and deliver exceptional service.

Other Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of financial products, deposits, and member services.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify member needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Basic math and cash handling proficiency.
  • Familiarity with core banking systems and digital platforms preferred.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift boxes or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
