Job Description:
Under the direction of the Security Operations Manager, the Security Supervisor assists in developing, researching, planning, organizing, and directing the hospital security management plans. Utilizes quality improvement initiatives in the performance of job duties. Provides direct supervision of assigned staff. Investigates concerns, incidents and assists in the monitoring of the campus. Coordinates activities with a primary focus on Customer Service to both the internal and external Customer.
Required Skills:
- Experience in instructing or conducting training or public presentations.
- Exceptional Customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software application to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to develop and present to small or large audiences utilizing the latest audio/visual technology.
- Strong analytical problem solving skills. Demonstrated skill in negotiation, mediation and problem resolution.
- Ability to deal effectively with various individuals in stressful, highly sensitive situations. Ability to work effectively with people of all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish professional rapport with law enforcement agencies to include proper follow up until issues successfully resolved.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Strong ability to organize work priorities and meet specific objectives under time constraints.
- Ability to be detailed oriented and perform tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of process improvement initiatives to include tracking and trending of data, graphical representations.
- Required bilingual, English/Spanish.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
Five years of work experience in security, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Two years supervisor experience required.
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
CPR required; or completed within six months of employment.
Completion of a Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) course required; or completed within six months of employment.
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic and Supervisor certification required; or completed within twelve months of employment.
Education and Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or related field preferred.
