As a Manager, Engineering, Nonlinear Productivity, you will help redefine how engineering teams build, review, and deliver software by identifying and eliminating structural friction in development workflows. This leadership role focuses on creating scalable solutions that improve developer productivity, leverage AI-assisted development, and unlock greater engineering impact without linear increases in headcount. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, platform productivity, product thinking, and emerging technologies, turning complex challenges into measurable improvements. By combining technical depth, strategic judgment, and hands-on execution, you will prototype solutions, drive adoption, and identify opportunities to transform internal innovations into products. • Identify recurring friction points across software development lifecycle processes, code-generation workflows, and engineering practices, building a data-driven view of opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate different solution approaches, including building, buying, or adapting emerging technologies such as AI-powered and agentic development tools.
• Design, prototype, and validate technical solutions that improve key engineering productivity metrics and deliver sustainable impact.
• Review architectures and technical approaches directly to assess whether proposed solutions are scalable, effective, and durable.
• Build and manage a high-performing engineering team or operate as a hands-on working manager focused on maximizing technical impact.
• Partner with engineering teams to move validated solutions from prototypes into broader internal adoption.
• Collaborate with product teams to assess opportunities for transforming successful internal solutions into customer-facing products.
• Document successful approaches, lessons learned, and reusable practices to ensure knowledge is shared across teams.
• Track and communicate impact through measurable productivity improvements, adoption metrics, and clear analysis of successful and unsuccessful initiatives.

• Strong experience identifying and delivering technical solutions that improve developer productivity, continuous integration and delivery processes, platform efficiency, or engineering workflows.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, define strategic priorities, and create a roadmap without relying on an existing backlog.
• Experience managing engineers, leading small teams, or operating successfully as a hands-on engineering manager.
• Strong technical depth with the ability to evaluate, prototype, and validate solutions directly.
• Product-oriented mindset with the ability to determine whether internal engineering tools and solutions could provide value to external users.
• Experience with modern software development practices, engineering platforms, automation, and productivity tooling.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, agentic tools, and emerging technologies is highly valuable.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams while influencing stakeholders through data and technical expertise.
• Experience transitioning internal tools or platforms into customer-facing products is considered an advantage.
