SHUNT TRUCK DRIVER - Afternoons in Kingsville, Ontario at Mucci Farms Inc

Title: Shunt Truck Driver

Reports to: Local Logistics Coordinator at Mucci Pac Ltd.

Based at: Mucci Pac Ltd., Kingsville, Ontario.

Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, 6-days a week Monday to Saturday, and extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which will include possible Sundays.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Maintaining daily cross-dock; switching trailers to each location
• Ensure each load is safely put in place and secured with chains, rapes, and slings.
• Monitor and maintain all equipment and trailers including fueling, cleaning, and reporting all issues.
• Ensure reefers are operational including: running, fueled, and cleaned
• Complete daily yard checks and daily reports
• Perform daily vehicle inspection such as brakes, lights, tires, and oil
• Reporting any damage, accidents, or incidents with equipment
• Fuel and clean trailers and any loaded trailers in yards
• Communicating efficiently with Shipping and Receiving teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Maintain a clean CVOR and driver’s abstract, must provide in interview
• Possess a valid driver’s license (AZ), must provide in interview
• Ability to provide a police clearance and pass initial and ongoing drug testing.
• Mechanical abilities in order to help troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate any issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Physical Abilities:

• Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
• Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F.

Rate of Pay: $23.00/hr
