Lead HR Applications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead HR Applications based in United States.

This fully remote leadership role sits at the intersection of HR, technology, data, and business operations.
You will lead the administration and continuous improvement of HRIS and related business applications supporting critical people processes.
The role combines team leadership with hands-on technical oversight across system enhancements, reporting, integrations, automation, and data governance.
You will partner closely with HR, Payroll, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to translate organizational needs into scalable technology solutions.
The position also plays an important role in advancing AI, workflow automation, analytics, and integration initiatives that improve employee and operational experiences.
Success requires strong governance, analytical thinking, project leadership, and the ability to drive accountability across multiple teams.

Accountabilities
  • Team leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the HR Applications team, establishing a culture of collaboration, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational leadership: Manage project intake, prioritization, resource allocation, issue resolution, and delivery of HR technology initiatives and support activities.
  • Governance and service management: Establish and maintain operational processes, governance standards, service levels, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks for HR applications.
  • HR applications administration: Oversee HRIS and related business applications, ensuring system effectiveness, data integrity, security, compliance, and reliable service delivery.
  • System enhancements: Direct the design, testing, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of workflows, reports, interfaces, and system functionality.
  • Cross-functional partnership: Act as a key liaison between HR, Payroll, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve issues, clarify requirements, optimize systems, and deliver business outcomes.
  • Documentation and enablement: Maintain system documentation, training materials, and end-user resources while providing guidance and training when needed.
  • Reporting and analytics: Support workforce analytics, compensation processes, compliance reporting, and ad hoc business requests through effective reporting and data analysis.
  • Dashboards and metrics: Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting solutions that improve operational visibility and support informed decision-making.
  • Data quality and optimization: Monitor HR data quality, identify process inefficiencies, and implement opportunities for improved reporting, automation, workflows, and system performance.
  • AI and automation: Support and champion AI-enabled technologies, automation, workflow solutions, and integrations that improve HR efficiency and employee experience.
  • Technology integration: Partner with technical and business teams to optimize system integrations, data interfaces, and scalable technology solutions.
  • Security and compliance: Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and security of employee information while supporting privacy requirements, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and appropriate access controls.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HR technology experience: At least 4 years of experience supporting HRIS, HR technology, or related business applications, including reporting, analytics, system enhancements, and integrations.
  • Implementation experience: Demonstrated experience leading HR technology implementations, upgrades, process improvements, and cross-functional technology projects.
  • Leadership: Experience leading people or initiatives through direct or indirect supervision, mentoring, project leadership, or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Technical proficiency: Advanced knowledge of HR systems, SQL, Excel, reporting platforms, analytics, and dashboard development.
  • Automation and AI: Experience with or knowledge of AI-enabled technologies, automation tools, workflow solutions, and system integrations is preferred.
  • Analytical ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technology and process solutions.
  • Project management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive initiatives through completion.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and influence stakeholders across different functions.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with HR, Payroll, IT, vendors, and business leaders while establishing clear ownership and accountability.
  • Data mindset: Strong understanding of data integrity, reporting accuracy, system controls, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Remote work: Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment and remain available five days per week during designated working hours.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to work at a desk or workstation for extended periods, typically 7–8 hours per day, and regularly operate computers, phones, and multiple software applications.
