As a Navan Pro Travel Consultant, you’ll deliver high-touch, personalized business travel support to a portfolio of clients.
You’ll build trusted relationships while helping travelers save time, control costs, and navigate complex travel requirements.
The role covers air, rail, hotel, car rental, black car, ferry, and charter reservations across diverse client industries.
You’ll combine strong travel expertise with modern booking technologies and a consultative approach to identify the best solutions.
Success requires exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to balance traveler experience with policy compliance and cost efficiency.
You’ll work closely with internal and international colleagues while managing your portfolio independently and meeting defined service levels.
This is a remote U.S. opportunity suited to an experienced business travel professional who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced environment.
- Manage a dedicated portfolio of clients and consistently deliver a high-touch service tailored to individual traveler and account requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders through proactive communication, responsiveness, and exceptional customer service.
- Handle air, rail, hotel, car rental, ferry, black car, and charter reservations while recommending effective and cost-efficient travel solutions.
- Apply appropriate fare types, ticketing methods, booking channels, and supplier options to optimize value for each client.
- Source competitive hotel rates through GDS and non-GDS channels and leverage supplier relationships and international fare resources to identify the best available options.
- Monitor bookings through trip completion to identify additional savings, service improvements, or opportunities to enhance the traveler experience.
- Apply detailed knowledge of client travel policies to encourage compliance while maximizing flexibility and traveler satisfaction.
- Use mixed-mode booking tools and provide first-line support for both offline and online bookings.
- Maintain strong proficiency in relevant travel and booking technologies and share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
- Meet account-specific SLAs, deadlines, quality-control requirements, and operational standards.
- Collaborate regularly with overseas colleagues and cross-functional teams to provide consistent service across markets.
- Stay current with industry innovations, including airline direct-connect capabilities, low-cost carriers, evolving fare structures, and other travel technologies.
- Demonstrate proactive, consultative thinking by identifying opportunities to add value to individual bookings and broader client relationships.
- Maintain accurate booking and client information while following established operational processes and quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience in a core business travel environment, with previous VIP travel experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the business travel industry, including air travel, aircraft types and cabins, rail, hotels, car rental, black car, low-cost carriers, OTAs, and related travel products.
- Proficiency with one or more major GDS platforms, including Sabre, Galileo, or Amadeus.
- Experience using mixed-mode booking tools and providing first-line support for both offline and online booking processes.
- Familiarity with rail, black car, low-cost carrier, and OTA booking systems.
- Excellent telephone manner and written communication skills, with the ability to build exceptional rapport with a diverse client base.
- Strong consultative and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify client needs and recommend practical, cost-effective travel solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client requirements effectively.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as a team player in a collaborative environment.
- Strong resourcefulness and the ability to make effective use of available tools, systems, and information to complete tasks accurately and on time.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant travel technology.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable approach with a willingness to learn new systems, processes, and industry developments.
- Commitment to completing required training and maintaining current knowledge of travel products and technologies.
- Ability to meet both individual and team-based business objectives and consistently deliver against service expectations.
