GARDEN SHOP RETAIL ASSOCIATE in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania at Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens is seeking seasonal Garden Shop Retail Associates to support our on-site retail operations in our 6000 sq. ft. Garden Shop through January 2027. The Retail Associates are responsible for the operational readiness and daily assignments required to deliver an extraordinary experience to our guests in our Gardens Shop. Responsibilities include:

• Enhancing the guest experience by delivering personalized service, building strong relationships, and sharing product knowledge to meet customer needs
• Assisting with and maintaining visual presentations and merchandise standards
• Efficiently handling customer purchases, returns, and payments while following established cash-handling and point-of-sale protocols
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment for both guests and staff
• Contributing to sales performance by supporting team goals and key retail metrics
• Supporting operations in secondary retail locations as needed, which may involve working in areas with limited climate control

The ideal candidates will possess:

• The availability to work 28-40 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays through January 2027
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors for extended periods and performing job duties in a variety of weather conditions
• Outstanding customer service, communication, and hospitality skills
• Proficiency with point-of-sale/register systems and Microsoft Office applications
• The ability to stand and sit for extended periods, and safely lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds
