Union Floor Technician in Chicago, Illinois at CITY WIDE JANI INC

City Wide Jani Inc. is seeking dependable and detail oriented Union Floor Technicians to maintain clean, safe, and professional commercial facilities. The Union Floor Technician performs routine cleaning, sanitation, floor care, and waste removal while following union and safety standards. As a Union Floor Technician, you will help create a welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors through quality custodial and facility maintenance services.

• Perform routine and specialized floor cleaning, stripping, waxing, polishing, and sealing using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
• Inspect flooring surfaces to identify damage, wear, or safety hazards and recommend or perform necessary repairs or maintenance.
• Operate floor care machinery such as buffers, scrubbers, and extractors safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or issues encountered during service.
• Collaborate with facility management and maintenance teams to schedule floor care activities minimizing disruption to daily operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, environmental services, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and dependable attendance.
• Reliable transportation.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with safety requirements.

• Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and floor care.
• Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards.
• Chemical handling and sanitation experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, or multi-tenant commercial properties.

• Full-Time, 7p-3a, Monday - Friday (3rd Shift)
• Union position with wages and benefits provided in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
