Job Description
Sushi by Bou is a modern omakase concept defined by intimate settings, thoughtful design and an energetic atmosphere. As we expand, we are looking for talented hospitality professionals to join our team and grow with us.
Position Overview
Working across company locations, private events and off-site engagements, this role adapts the omakase experience to each setting while preserving the precision and personal connection that define it. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, self-directed sushi chef who operates confidently wherever service takes place.
Pay
Weekly guarantee based on experience, inclusive of hourly wages and tips.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls and other menu items with consistent technique and presentation.
Organize ingredients, tools and supplies for service at company locations and event sites.
Maintain product quality and proper food handling during preparation, transport and service.
Adapt workflow to different venues, guest counts and event formats.
Coordinate with culinary, front-of-house and event teams on timing and service needs.
Monitor inventory and communicate purchasing or replenishment needs.
Maintain a sanitary and efficient workstation in each service environment.
Travel between company locations and events as scheduled.
Support team members in learning company techniques and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of professional sushi chef experience in an omakase, fine-dining or comparable guest-facing concept.
Strong knife skills and proficiency in preparing nigiri, sashimi and hand rolls.
Knowledge of fish preparation, cold holding, storage and food-safety practices.
Experience with private dining, catering or off-site events preferred.
Ability to work independently and adjust to changing service environments.
Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
Outgoing presence and ability to connect with different guest groups.
Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
