Founded in 1961, Sandy Spring Friends School is a progressive, coed, academically-rigorous day and boarding school serving approximately 620 students from age three through 12th grade. Summary: The School Traffic Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of students, parents, and staff during school arrival and dismissal times. This role involves directing traffic around the school grounds, enforcing traffic laws, and assisting pedestrians in crossing streets safely. The officer works closely with school administration, local law enforcement, and the community to maintain a safe environment around the school. Responsibilities include monitoring crosswalks, managing traffic flow, and responding to any incidents or emergencies that may arise during peak hours. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
