DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevOps Engineer based in India.

This role focuses on building and evolving cloud-based platforms that combine DevOps, observability, automation, and data quality capabilities.
You will help design reliable infrastructure and operational services within a modern Microsoft Azure environment.
The position has a strong emphasis on SRE principles, proactive issue detection, automated remediation, and platform performance.
You will work across Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, data platforms, monitoring, and cloud cost optimization.
Your contributions will directly improve system reliability, operational efficiency, data integrity, and engineering scalability.
You’ll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in an environment that values automation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decisions.
This is a 12-month remote contract offering the opportunity to work on complex enterprise-scale cloud and data infrastructure.

Accountabilities
  • Architect, develop, and continuously enhance a core monitoring and operations platform using modern cloud technologies and best practices.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve the stability, availability, scalability, and performance of critical applications and data infrastructure.
  • Develop intelligent monitoring and automation capabilities that proactively detect, diagnose, and support automated or semi-automated resolution of technical issues, anomalies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Build data quality capabilities that continuously measure and report on timeliness, consistency, completeness, accuracy, validity, and uniqueness across critical supply chain and enterprise data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain centralized dashboards using tools such as Grafana, Power BI, or Databricks to provide visibility into system health, operational KPIs, financial metrics, and data quality.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational workflows through Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, Python, and Shell scripting.
  • Integrate and optimize technologies including Fivetran, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kafka, Azure SQL Server, Databricks, and Flink within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Implement FinOps practices and reporting to monitor cloud resource consumption, optimize costs, and improve infrastructure investment efficiency.
  • Analyze incidents, performance trends, and data quality issues to identify recurring problems and drive continuous improvements.
  • Ensure monitoring and data platforms provide reliable, timely, and auditable information that supports business decisions and compliance requirements.
Requirements
  • Bring 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
  • Have practical experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized application environments.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Possess strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python and Shell scripting.
  • Have experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and broader observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong practical understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and their application to production environments.
  • Have experience working with Kafka, Azure SQL Server, Databricks, Flink, and Fivetran.
  • Understand infrastructure automation, system monitoring, performance optimization, incident management, and proactive reliability engineering.
  • Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a structured approach to diagnosing complex technical problems.
  • Be comfortable working collaboratively across technical teams and communicating complex infrastructure and operational concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrate an improvement-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, distributed, and remote environment.
