Overview:
Press Brake Operator-Trainee is an entry level/trainee position. As a "Trainee" you will work under complete supervision. Provide assistance, learn to maintain and lubricate machines, load and operate press brake machines to shape metal according to customer specifications, the basics of being a press brake operator, procedures and processes used at Athena, and the importance of safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Learn the use of safe working habits and clean work area (6S).
- Adhere and promote Athena Manufacturing Code of Values.
- Learn and Identify Safety Hazards.
- Learn job skills, company policies and processes to do routine tasks.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Learn basics of running a press brake.
- Learn basic machine/equipment repair and maintenance.
- Learn to install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures.
- Work on low level production parts with a low difficulty rate.
- Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading.
- Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information.
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure products are not flawed.
- Grind out burrs or sharp edges, using portable grinders, speed lathes, or polishing jacks.
- Measure completed parts to verify conformance of specifications.
- Examine completed parts for defects.
- Record/document operational and production data.
- Perform other jobs or functions assigned by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- a minimum of (2) years of consistent working experience. Related experience a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Personal computers
- Comfortable with Technology, open to learning/coachable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Warehouse and inventory systems (Made2Mange:M2M and SFM)
- Amada HD 1003 ATC, Amada HD S 1303NT, Amada RG 80 Press Brake, Amada RG 5020 Press Brake
