Job Description

Director, Government Partnerships

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Government Partnerships based in United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to build and scale a public sector partnerships function across Federal and SLED markets.
You will own the strategy, partner ecosystem, programs, and team responsible for generating partner-sourced pipeline and revenue.
The role sits at the intersection of government customers, technology partners, systems integrators, resellers, service providers, and compliance specialists.
You will design the structures, coverage models, and enablement programs that allow a partner network to grow efficiently and sustainably.
Working closely with sales, product, legal, marketing, and channel leadership, you will turn ecosystem insights into commercial and product opportunities.
This is a highly visible player-coach role for an experienced public sector partnerships leader who enjoys building functions from the ground up.
You will have meaningful influence over investment decisions, partner quality, government-market strategy, and the future growth of the public sector business.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the public sector partner strategy across Federal and SLED markets, defining the partner archetypes required across resellers, service partners, global systems integrators, third-party assessment organizations, and certified third-party assessment organizations, as well as the tiering, coverage model, and multi-year roadmap for building the ecosystem.
  • Own partner-sourced pipeline and ARR contribution, establishing the performance metrics, operating cadence, partner-health framework, and network-coverage standards required to achieve public sector revenue objectives, including sufficient FedRAMP and CMMC delivery capacity.
  • Design scalable partnership programs covering partner tiering and certification, enablement paths, co-selling motions, market development funds, investment allocation, partner health, and standardized partnership agreements in collaboration with Legal.
  • Build and lead the public sector partnerships team, initially managing one partnerships manager and expanding the organization as the segment grows. Establish operating rhythms, performance standards, quality expectations, and development plans that enable team members to independently manage strategic partner relationships.
  • Partner with global channel and alliances leadership to connect the public sector motion with the broader partner ecosystem, including MSPs, VARs, and auditors supporting federal compliance programs such as FedRAMP and CMMC, while ensuring public sector initiatives complement rather than duplicate commercial channel efforts.
  • Serve as the internal voice of the government ecosystem, translating feedback from partners, commercial customers, and government agencies into actionable recommendations for product roadmap, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market priorities.
  • Identify and onboard new strategic partners, expand relationships with large firms that are not yet engaged, diversify the partner network, and make disciplined decisions about where to invest, where to deepen relationships, and where to exit.

Requirements:

  • Bring 10+ years of experience managing public sector channel and/or partnership programs, supported by a strong network across systems integrators, managed service providers, resellers, and audit or assessment organizations.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the public sector ecosystem, including Federal and SLED go-to-market models and federal compliance programs such as FedRAMP and CMMC.
  • Have at least five years of people management experience, including responsibility for team performance, development, and accountability.
  • Demonstrate experience owning a revenue target delivered through partners, including establishing the metrics, operating cadence, and management mechanisms required to consistently achieve results.
  • Have a proven record of building, managing, and scaling external partner relationships, ideally within cybersecurity, governance, risk and compliance, security, or another closely related technology ecosystem.
  • Bring experience working with systems integrators, MSPs, VARs, and audit firms; direct audit or assessor experience is valuable but not required.
  • Combine strong technical and public sector domain credibility with commercially oriented business development instincts and the ability to evaluate opportunities from both perspectives.
  • Demonstrate a track record of building or scaling channel networks, diversifying partner ecosystems to reduce concentration risk, or establishing quality and performance programs for external partners.
  • Be highly effective at coordinating across go-to-market, product, legal, marketing, channel sales, and other cross-functional teams to align priorities and execute complex initiatives.
  • Be comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving, high-growth environments and capable of creating structure, processes, and repeatable systems where they do not yet exist.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Be open to using AI to amplify professional capabilities and improve efficiency, while demonstrating curiosity, sound judgment, continuous learning, and responsible application of AI in business settings.

Benefits:

  • Industry-competitive salary and equity.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only premiums covered for most medical plans.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents.
  • Health and wellness stipend.
  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend.
  • Commuter benefits for team members reporting to designated offices.
  • Family planning benefits.
  • Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting.
  • Flexible PTO policy plus 80 hours of paid sick time.
  • 11 company-paid holidays.
  • Virtual team-building activities, lunch-and-learns, and company-wide events.
  • Access to offices in San Francisco, New York City, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney.
  • Remote-friendly working environment with opportunities to collaborate across a globally distributed organization.
